Edit Your Book was started by Dr. Jonathan Brazee when he saw a need for competent editing at affordable prices. He has published both fiction and non-fiction and in academic, military, business, environmental, literary, and political science publications. He has both traditionally published and self-published books, with his self-published books exceeding 300,000 copies sold via Amazon, Nook, Apple, and Kobo. He is a two-time Nebula Award finalist and a one-time Dragon Award finalist. Jonathan is a regular panelist at conventions such as San Diego Comic-Con, WorldCon, Dragon Con, NASFiC, 20Booksto50k, the Nebula Award Conference, MileHiCon, and many others where he helps others manage the maze of traditional and self-publishing.
He has an amateur book review site and submits reviews to several online book sellers. As a result of the many books he has received for review, he realized that many of the self-published books had a very good foundation, but really needed help in both copy and content editing. Wildlife in wrong continents, names of characters changing from one chapter to another, weapons working in ways they simply cannot, incompatible timelines--these are just a few examples of the myriad of very common, but simple-to-correct errors in books submitted to him.
A retired Marine colonel, he worked as a professor of business in San Diego before taking an opportunity overseas until his return to the US to become a full-time writer. He is not a life-long professional editor. He has experience grading thousands and thousands of papers and was trained by the armed forces in proofreading and copy editing, but this foray into the publishing market is his first concerted attempt to offer his services to the public at large.
Jonathan is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, and the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association.
